Services Manager Vacancy

We are seeking a Services Manager to lead and develop our counselling and therapy services.

This is a key leadership role, ensuring services are safe, inclusive, and responsive to client needs while supporting the professional growth of our therapeutic team. You will:

  • Lead day-to-day delivery of our counselling and therapy services.
  • Manage rotas, referrals, assessments, waiting lists, and outcomes monitoring.
  • Provide inspiring leadership and line management to staff, placements, and volunteers.
  • Act as joint safeguarding lead, ensuring best practice in safeguarding children and adults.
  • Develop policies, procedures, and quality standards to support safe and effective services.
  • Build strong partnerships with the NHS, funders, and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to fundraising, commissioning, and contract bids.
  • Deputise for the CEO when required.

About you

This role is ideal for someone with a strong track record of managing counselling or therapeutic services and a passion for making a difference in the lives of people affected by eating distress.

You will bring:

  • At least two years’ experience managing counselling/therapy services in health, charity, or community settings.
  • Experience managing staff, volunteers, or placements.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and support a team.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, monitoring and evaluation, and counselling/psychotherapy frameworks (BACP/UKCP).
  • Experience of partnership working, ideally with NHS or statutory services.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and digital skills.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, and person-centred care.

What we offer

  • £37,803 per annum (pro rata for part time)
  • 28 days annual leave (pro rata), rising with service, including three Christmas closure days (excluding bank holidays)
